Behavioral Case

Since this was for a fellowship, I went through two interviews. The first was virtual with the assistant director of the fellowship. The second was in person and I interviewed with a panel of leaders of the social work fellow: directors and social workers who served as supervisors. It was pretty intimidating, so I would recommend calling any anxiety and being well prepared.

The interview process is a little bit intense. You have an initial interview with a few people including your supervisor and once you're past that initial interview, you have a last one with other social workers. They all go around and take turns asking you questions, one each.

Behavioral

The interview process was pretty simple and easy. However, the interview itself was kind of a mess. I felt like the interviewers were wasting my time. The questions were repetitive, and they didn't seem to know what they were looking for in an employee. They also didn't have a set schedule they could give me, which made me hesitant to agree to anything they asked. The job requires availability on weekdays, holidays, and weekends, but it's also listed as part-time, which is a lot of mixed signals and red flags.

The assistant and director were super quick to set up the interview and get back to me with answers. The interview itself lasted about 45 minutes and I met with a panel of interviewers. Most of the questions were typical behavioral ones.

  • Can you share an experience of when you worked in a team?
