First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Medicines Company.
Customer Success Manager
First, there was a phone screen, then a face-to-face with a manager and other CSMs where we talked about product/disease specifics and client targeting. I also had to prepare a 90-day plan for managing my territory. After that, I had four onsite corporate interviews, including meetings with Director and VP-level folks. They reviewed my resume, asked about my background and experience, my 90-day territory plan, the company's overall strategy with current and new products, and why I thought I'd be a good fit.
- Tell us about a past success story you are most proud of.
- Explain why you believe you are a good fit for this role.
- Outline the initial steps you would take to start managing the territory.
Sales Analyst
The interview process was really great. First, I had a chat with a recruiter about my background and current job. Then, I had a second phone interview with both an HR Recruiter and the Hiring Manager. A week later, they asked me for an in-person interview on-site. This involved the original recruiter, the Hiring Manager, another manager who works with him, and a Sr HR Manager. It was a well-organized and informative interview, and I felt really comfortable throughout. I'm waiting to hear back about another interview and hopefully an offer. It's a great company!
- Can you describe an analytic report you've created?
Product Manager Associate
I applied online and heard back from the manager about two weeks later. We had a phone chat where they asked standard questions about healthcare, my background, my experience, and why I'd be a good fit. It felt like they were looking for someone with a Ph.D. or MBA for what seemed like a junior role. They didn't get back to me, and after I emailed them twice to check, they finally said they'd gone with a better candidate. However, two weeks after that, they contacted me again to continue the interview process with an onsite meeting. The onsite interview itself was pretty standard, but I wasn't a fan of how they seemed to be going back and forth with candidates, lacking stability.
- What's your approach during a crisis?
- Tell me about yourself and your past work.
- How would you be a good fit for this position?
Customer Solutions Manager
I had a phone call with the Human Strategy Recruiter. Then, I chatted with a manager from a different territory and another CSM who was recently hired. After that, I met the hiring manager in person. Then I visited the home office and had individual meetings with the Recruitment Coordinator, Director of Human Strategy, Human Strategy Recruiter, and Senior Director Change and Account Management. My last interview was a phone call with the National Vice President of Sales. Everyone involved in the process was very professional, supportive, and genuine.
- What's your plan for achieving your goals?
