First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Mather Group.
Marketing Sales Intern
The interview process was exclusively online due to COVID-19, but even so, the process was done in a very professional way. Conducting two solo interviews and one group interview. They do a great job of covering the responsibilities of the position and what each intern is working towards in the long run at the company. The job is great for go-getters and those who can handle rejection over the phone easily. Can't say anything but good things about my experience and interview process
- What is a personal weakness that you would identify?
Tax Associate
I applied through my school's career portal and then got a call for a phone interview. The interviewer seemed pretty annoyed during the call. They asked me about my experience with retirement and social security taxes. It was weird because my resume clearly shows I don't have that experience, and the job description didn't even mention it. It felt like a waste of my time with this firm. They didn't even send a rejection email.
- Did you have any tax experience related to retirements or social security?
Private Wealth Management Intern
First, there was a phone call interview, about 30 minutes long, focused mostly on behavioral questions and asking me to talk about myself. The next step was a virtual round with some scenario-based questions; overall, it was a good experience. They reviewed resumes beforehand and I connected with the interviewer.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What makes you a suitable candidate?
- How would you approach this situation?
Client Associate
They asked about uptempo working environment and being team-oriented. Basically want to see how motivated you are to help grow this firm. Emphasized on being productive and efficient with everyone's time. They asked a lot of personality questions to see how I would fit in with their team. The position is very competitive and you are compensated well if you work hard.
- Can you tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership?
