First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Management Trust.
HOA Manager
The Managers were very professional and very kind. I really enjoyed the conversation. I would say that it was difficult because they had roughly 10 questions they asked regarding customer service and specific experiences in property management.
- Why do you think Customer Service is important? How do you handle clients when they are upset and complain?
- Why is Customer Service Important? How do you interact with clients when the client is upset and has a complaint?
Administrative Assistant
I think I saw this job on indeed.com. The manager I would have assisted reached out via email and set up an in person interview. We talked in her office and it was really nice, felt like catching up with an old friend. Then, she set up a second interview. The second interview was with the division president, his executive assistant, the accounting controller, and another manager I would be assisting. That one felt more intimidating with more people, but they were all nice and I felt comfortable by the end. I sent thank you emails to the managers after and got an offer by the end of the week, which I took.
- What's your understanding of HOAs?
- What is something you would happily do all day, every day, if you could?
- Given that this role can be stressful, how do you decompress after work, and what are your stress management techniques?
Associate Manager
Got selected from resume screening. An associate confirmed my interview and did a quick phone call as a pre-interview step. Then I got invited to their clubhouse for an interview. I met with the Manager and the person whose job I would be taking over. They mentioned they were interviewing at least one more candidate. Two days later, I got an email saying they hired someone more qualified.
- Can you tell me about a weakness you have?
Staff Accountant
The hiring process starts with postings on Craigslist. You'll have a phone interview, followed by a meeting with one or both managers. Some interviewees reported not getting a word in, but I made sure to dominate the conversation. They'll give you a list of 20-25 personality questions and ask you to pick and answer five. References are required and will be contacted. Honestly, I'd advise looking elsewhere. I was not happy with my experience or the management.
- Describe your approach to handling stressful situations.
- In a hypothetical scenario, what action would you take?
