I applied through Indeed and then reached out to the hiring manager on Linkedin. We talked and she said I was qualified and interested in hiring me, but I declined because of the salary.

They asked me to prepare a 3-minute presentation on one of five given topics. Part of the interview involved giving this presentation. We also talked about the job specifics, like the hours and what the job entails. They asked some typical interview questions. Near the end, they handed me an object and gave me two minutes to put together a 60-second talk about it, including a brief conservation message.

I applied on their website. A couple of weeks after applying, I got an email with two time slots for a group interview. They also sent guidelines on how to get ready for it, including a required presentation about animals. I participated in the online interview, which was quite nice and not stressful at all. The whole experience was pretty straightforward and pleasant. My only hiccup was that they mentioned they'd get back to us by the weekend, but I had to email them two weeks later because I hadn't heard anything.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process included some really in-depth questions. The people I spoke with initially were nice, but the in-person interview was different. The interviewers seemed standoffish, and I got the impression they thought I was wasting their time. They were concerned that my years of experience might mean I was considering a role below my current level.

  • Is this role a step down for you?
