First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Lion Electric.
Electrical Engineer
The interview process was really quick and smooth. Everyone I spoke with was really nice and seemed to appreciate my background. I ended up getting the job offer in about 10 days after the initial interview. The interview itself was a team call with three interviewers.
- Can you tell me about your knowledge of lithium battery packs?
Customer Success Manager
There were multiple interview stages with experience based and hypothetical based questions. The entire process was completed online via Zoom. First interview was conducted with HR, the second interview was conducted with my director report, third and final was with VP/Senior Management.
- Can you describe your previous experience managing customers?
Chef de Section
Be ready to discuss your past experience. Share how you can make improvements and contribute to the products. Then, there's a general personality test. The HR team is really nice and helpful. You got this!
- What is your knowledge regarding electrification
VP Sales
The interview process involved multiple discussions with the C-suite, who expressed strong enthusiasm for me joining immediately. However, the role's scope and title were significantly altered late in the process, requiring me to manage a larger team than initially anticipated. Following this, the offer presented was substantially lower than what was advertised and previously discussed, affecting both salary and commission. Additionally, there was no upfront equity, and all equity had to be earned, with vague and low estimates that didn't include a clear vesting schedule. The recruiter pressured for an immediate decision. I submitted a counteroffer the next day. After two days of no response, I followed up about ten days later. The hiring executive stated they would 'abstain' from making a counteroffer, blaming the recruiter for the delayed communication. This whole experience felt questionable, possibly due to incompetence or deliberate shadiness.
- Standard questions were asked, covering a range of topics relevant to the role.
