First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Learning Experience.
Assistant Teacher
I applied on LinkedIn and quickly got a response to set up a phone screening. After that, I had an in-person interview that included a tour of the center and a chance to shadow a toddler classroom. Even though they said they'd get back to me in a few days, the director never responded, and they ghosted me after I followed up. It seemed a bit unprofessional.
- What would your colleagues say about you?
Nursery Nurse
We started with a tour of the building, then had a standard sit-down interview. They asked questions about my experience, safeguarding knowledge, and general questions about me like my interests, why I want to work there, and my future career goals.
- What is your motivation for wanting to work for TLE?
- Could you describe your professional background?
- Can you tell us about your experience?
Assistant Infant Teacher
I applied and they got back to me super fast, like within an hour! We set up the interview for a time that worked for me, and I got a text to confirm. The day before, I got a text reminder with directions to the center. The Director met me at the door and gave me a tour of the place. She seemed really nice and enthusiastic about her team. The interview questions were pretty standard, asking about my experience, what I expect from the job, and when I could start.
- Are you working on or do you already have your CDA?
- What age groups have you taught?
- What's the reason you're looking to leave your current job?
Teaching Assistant
The interview process for the Teaching Assistant role involved initial discussions to understand your qualifications and suitability. This included questions about your perceived strengths for the role and your understanding of a teaching assistant's responsibilities in an educational setting. A key part of the process was assessing your classroom management skills, specifically how you would address disruptive behavior among students.
- What makes you a good candidate for a teaching assistant position?
- Could you describe the responsibilities of a teaching assistant in a classroom environment?
- How would you manage a situation where a small group of students are consistently disruptive due to talking, laughing, or passing notes?
