First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Jacobson Group.
Account Coordinator
It was a really fast process. First, a recruiter called, then I had a video chat with the hiring manager. They offered me the job pretty quickly after that.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What would you say are your greatest strengths?
Recruiter
After applying, I received a call from a recruiter at Jacobson Group. She scheduled a phone interview for the next day. However, during the interview, the recruiter stated that she didn't think I was a good fit but wanted to talk anyway. This was surprising and disappointing, as I had a high opinion of the company before this experience.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- What are your career aspirations?
Researcher
The whole interview thing was kinda messy. First off, the admin sent me the wrong date and time, and they weren't flexible with scheduling, so I had to take a whole day off work. When I got there, they said they'd be right with me, but I waited like 20+ minutes past my scheduled time. The department head I was supposed to meet was just standing by the front desk chatting. Eventually, she came over and said she'd meet me later, but she was waiting for the admin to do her part first, which turned out to be walking me to the meeting room. Then, they had me interview with 5 people back-to-back for almost 4 hours straight, with no breaks for water or the restroom. They clearly didn't care much about me as a person. The interviews themselves were super basic and standard. After it was all done, they told me I'd hear back in 2-3 days because they were hiring fast. It took them over a month to get back to me, even though I followed up and I was a referral, and they even followed up on my behalf. Finally, after I contacted the head of HR, I got a response saying they decided to go with someone else. That's fine, but it felt like they were just trying to cover up the fact they totally messed up the communication.
- What color would you be if you were a crayon?
Data Entry Clerk
It was a text interview, which was a first for me. They explained the company and their expectations. The interview lasted until the next day and wasn't timed.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
