First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The J.M. Smucker Co..
Field Service Technician
Had a phone call from HR to set up a phone interview, then had the phone interview with HR. After that, there were four panel interviews via Zoom with the service lead/managers. The final interview was with the regional lead. They will ask behavioral questions to gauge your fit with company culture and values.
- What makes you want to work for Smucker?
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge or conflict?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Manufacturing Technician
It was a very chill, friendly chat. I met with two nice guys who asked me standard action-interview questions. Then we went over my resume, and they asked some technical stuff to get a better sense of my experience. We finished with an open Q&A where I could ask about anything – the job, the company, the vibe, the schedule, all that. Overall, I thought it went well.
- Can you share an instance of a safety challenge you faced, how you handled it, and the results?
- Describe a time you had a disagreement with a coworker and what the outcome was.
- Provide a detailed example of a situation where you had to troubleshoot a machine.
Lab Technician
I had a panel interview with some lab techs and supervisors who all seemed happy in their jobs. They asked about my 5-year plan. I didn't get to see other parts of the facility. The job is M-F dayshift. They are looking for people to stay with the company long-term and grow with them.
- What is your desired salary?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
