Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Information Lab.
Data Consultant
The interview process started with a Tableau Dashboard submission. Then there was a video call round with the recruiter/HR. This was followed by an onsite interview which included a presentation of the dashboard I submitted. I was asked to critique a dashboard they showed me and then they gave feedback on my work. After the presentation round, I had a final round with two other interviewers. Overall, it was a great experience as a candidate because the interviewers were very nice and friendly.

So first, you gotta find your own dataset and make a dashboard with it. Then you send it over, and if it's decent, they'll tell you how to make it better. You send it back, and then they'll maybe give you a call for like a 30-minute chat. You gotta do a quick 5-minute presentation about your dashboard and answer some normal questions. After that, they want you to build another dashboard, but this time using data they give you. The last interview is kinda the same as the first one, but they dig deeper with more questions.
