Data Analyst
So the first thing they had me do was create a dashboard and then present it. If that went well, the next step was to get a dataset and build a dashboard with it on a tight deadline, and then present that to a group of people. The in-person interview started with some basic questions, then my presentation, and then they gave me a dashboard to look at and talk about.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What modifications would you suggest for this dashboard?
Data Analyst
The process is way too long, 3 months is excessive. On top of that, you have to do 2 Tableau projects which honestly doesn't make sense. They should be clearer about the language level they expect because it's way higher than what they list in the job descriptions, and they even expect some experience in the field. If you want to learn how to use this software, it's better to do it in online courses or on YouTube, and it's less stressful.
- What are the challenges of being a consultant?
Data Analyst
I applied for the Data School in 2023 and went through the whole interview process. It started with the initial dashboard application, then the phone screen, and finally the in-person interview at the London office. The phone screen was pretty casual with one coach, but the final interview had a panel of four interviewers.
- Why are you interested in data as a career?
- What qualities define a good consultant?
- How would you handle starting a new job with no onboarding or introductions on your first day?
