First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Himalaya Drug Company.
Quality Control Trainee
First I had an HR round, then a manager round. They asked me to introduce myself and asked some basic questions about my qualifications and projects. They also asked questions about the company and the lab environment.

Sales Officer
The process starts with a positive response and they make you feel comfortable with a good ambiance, also known as a pre-interview. The first round is usually a one-on-one with the hiring manager where they ask about your qualifications, skills, work history, and relevant experience. They also assess if you'd be a good fit for the company culture.
- What is your motivation for seeking a new job opportunity?
Category Manager
We did an initial phone screen with HR and the hiring manager. Then, there were panel interviews with other cross-functional team members. The whole process took a few weeks from the first contact to the final stages. An offer was rescinded after a counter-offer, which shouldn't happen as offers are supposed to be negotiations in good faith. I dodged a bullet with this company, they lacked empathy, had poor communication, and HR seemed inexperienced.
- Can you tell me about your category management experience?
Medical Representative
I talked with the Regional Manager who would be my supervisor. We introduced ourselves and chatted a bit about personal stuff and background. Then we set a date for the interview. On the interview day, the Regional Manager conducted the first round. She gave me a product brochure and asked me to present it like I was selling it. After my presentation, she asked some questions about the scientific terms in the brochure, which I answered well. She then introduced me to the Zonal Manager she reports to. He did the final interview that same day. He told me the salary details and that it was a fixed offer, so take it or leave it. Two days later, they let me know I was selected and could start in 3 days on January 20, 2009, beginning with on-the-job training.
- Given that you are overqualified for this position, what assurances can you provide that you will not leave shortly after starting?
