First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Henry.
Server
After your initial meet and greet, if they are interested in you they will ask you to come in for a “staj”, where you shadow a server for about an hour and talk with the manager again. It lets you get a feel for the restaurant and for them to get a feel of you. I really liked this “staj” idea. It really lets both parties make an assessment before a commitment. Then if all goes well with that, they will set you up with an orientation time and they will go over everything about the restaurant then. Following that there are at least seven training days.
- What are your aspirations?
- What do you know about wine?
Cashier Barista
It was a walk in interview, which lasted about 10 minutes. I submitted a marketing resume beforehand to help things go more smoothly. The interviewer seemed stressed, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I wasn't allowed to ask any questions. I was asked about my time in Hospitality and my customer engagement experience, but the interviewer seemed uninterested. I didn't get a sense that the company was inclusive, with no diversity unless you're a customer. Disappointing.
- How long have you worked in Hospitality?
- What's your availability like?
- Can you share about your customer engagement experience?
Prep Cook
The interview process was thorough and friendly. I was expecting and prepared for more, but it was a relatively short process. I hope this is helpful to others seeking a similar job. I was very fortunate that things went my way.
- What are your available working hours?
Hostess
It was a really good interview, very professional. They asked a lot of deep questions to see what I really knew about the job and how I would use my skills.
- What type of work environment do you prefer?
