First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Health Management Academy.
Research Analyst
Started with a phone screen, then talked to my future manager, followed by a chat with a peer and then the program director. Wrapped up with a research assignment. It was a pretty standard interview process, though the company and role details were a bit unclear throughout.
- Carry out a research assignment on a potential task.
Project Coordinator
The interview process was super fast, like 2 weeks total. It included a phone screen and then three zoom interviews with team members. They also gave me a short writing exercise to check my writing skills, which wasn't too tough. The recruiter was amazing, super communicative, always gave updates, and told me what to expect in the interviews. It made the whole thing really pleasant and I felt good about the team.
- Tell me about your previous experience relevant to this role.
- How do you anticipate handling specific scenarios that may arise?
- What are your methods for staying organized?
Product Marketing Manager
The interview process was very unprofessional. The first interview was scheduled over the phone, but the interviewer didn't show up or call. Five minutes late, they sent an email saying they 'were not feeling well' and asked to reschedule for the next week. After the rescheduled interview, they asked me to do an assessment, a case study that took a lot of time, and to provide work samples. They said there would be 2-3 more rounds of interviews with senior executives, and the case study would be presented in one of those rounds. Two days after submitting everything, I got a generic email saying the position was filled, with no feedback on my work or assessment. When I tried calling back, the calls went straight to voicemail. The company phone also doesn't get picked up. Avoid this company.
- Can you discuss your previous experience?
- What are your thoughts on this role?
- Please complete the provided case study.
Finance Manager
The recruiter changed the job title from Director of FP&A to Manager after I applied, which was really annoying. They wanted Director-level work but offered Manager pay. The first interview was with HR, and the person said something offensive. I then interviewed with the hiring manager over Zoom, which went well, and they wanted to move me forward. They sent me an Excel case study and scheduled a CFO interview simultaneously. I spent a lot of time on the case study, which had some misleading info and required assumptions. They gave picky feedback on my submission, which I think was too harsh for a sample of work. They then canceled the CFO interview last minute, citing they weren't interested. The whole experience felt disorganized and unprofessional, like they expected senior-level work but offered junior-level compensation.
- Could you provide a detailed example of a past work experience?
