Program Manager
Applied for a PM role, mentioned time zone and availability in cover letter/email. Interview scheduled for 4 AM my time. Wrote to reschedule, got an out-of-office reply, so had to attend at 4 AM. It was a panel interview and it went well. Was told I might have to travel within 48 hours and be ready. Never heard back, even after sending a thank you and follow-ups. A month later, saw other openings and asked a panel member if I'd be a good fit. They asked me to interview for a different, unadvertised job. Within 30 minutes of conversation, I got an offer for this new job.
- What's your management style like?
Programme Support Officer
I had a panel interview with the country director, regional director, and an HR person. They asked some technical questions about how my past experience relates to this job, and also some safeguarding questions, like scenarios to see how I make decisions.
- What do you think are some important things the programme needs to do to secure additional donor funding?
GIS/Mapping Analyst
I had a placement interview for my master's program at The HALO Trust. The interview process was friendly, and I was introduced to various departments within the organization. I felt respected despite the placement being for less than two months.
- Can you tell me about your experience from previous projects or work?
Programmer Officer
Applied online and after a few weeks, HR invited me for a Skype interview. It was a panel of three and it was really quick, about 20 minutes long. They asked me to introduce myself and then had two or three super short questions because they seemed to be in a rush.
- Tell us about yourself.
- What do you like to do in your free time?
- What are your strong and weak points?
