First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Greenbrier.
Operations Manager
The interview was pretty chill and lasted about half an hour. They asked some pretty standard questions. Overall, it was a good experience, and I got a job offer really quickly.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself and explain your interest in this role?
Conference Services Manager
It was a long and slow process. Initially, a recruiter tried to sell me on the property. Then, I had a phone screening with HR, followed by an interview with the hiring manager. This whole initial part took about two months. After those calls, I was invited to visit the property for a few days to interview, with all expenses covered, including travel (if I were hired). The onsite interview was intense, involving meetings with each department head first, then the team I would be working with directly, and finally the General Manager. About three months after the onsite, I got an offer.
- Can you discuss your past experience in conference services management?
Cook
Had a quick phone interview first, then a skills interview over a weekend. Also had a bench test where I had to cook basic things in different kitchens and help prep for service. Learned about the various dining outlets on and off property. Participated during service in 4 different kitchens and worked a 12-hour shift. The chefs were very passionate.
- Tell me about what you're most passionate about.
Licensed Massage Therapist
The interview process was straightforward. It included a hair follicle drug test and a practical demonstration of your massage skills where you'll give the services manager, Laurie, a massage. Be prepared to give massages to other employees frequently during training, which is described as fun and easy.
- What is your availability like on major holidays?
