First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Giving Back Fund.
Foundation Manager
It was a pretty quick process, only two interviews: a phone screening and then a final interview later the same week. Mostly just chatting, not many questions outside of going over my resume. They got back to me over a week later saying they were 'going in a different direction.' Honestly, after seeing reviews, not getting an offer was probably for the best. Glad it only took two weeks instead of months like some other non-profits.
- Do you own a personal computer, cell phone, and have wifi?
- Is the maximum salary of $70k acceptable to you?
- Are you okay with a background check that includes checking for felonies?
Foundation Manager
I had two phone interviews with Senior Foundation Managers, and then an in-person interview with the Foundation Manager, COO, and a presentation for the CEO. I completed the in-person and presentation and never heard back. They then reposted the position with a lower salary than what I shared with them.
- Can you describe your preferred work environment?
- Tell me about a time a project or situation didn't turn out the way you hoped.
Chief of Staff
I had three interviews. The first was with someone whose title I never got, and she cold called me and asked a lot of questions. The next was with the CEO, and the last was with a different current employee. I was told I'd hear back soon, but didn't hear back for six months. They cold called me again and said they still hadn't made a decision and asked if I was still interested. I said yes, but that was two months ago and I haven't heard back.
- Can you tell me about your recent job experiences?
Fund Manager
The interview process was conducted over the phone. The recruiter was thorough and easy to talk to, providing interesting and in-depth information. They were caring during the conversation and helpful in coaching and assessing my answers.
- What prompted you to leave your prior employment positions?
