The interview process feels like a waiting game. You only get about twenty minutes of talking time across three meetings that stretch over a month. I interviewed multiple times, thinking I was close to an offer, but then never heard back from anyone.

The interview process here is a bit longer than usual. It started with a 10-minute phone interview where they asked about my past work experience and when I could start. Next, I had a face-to-face meeting with the manager, which felt a bit strange because other people kept coming in and out while we were talking in the lobby. Then came a technical part where I had to dress according to their code and bring a model with me. Finally, I had another phone chat, this time with the CEO, who seemed friendly and inquired about my life aspirations.

Had a 10 min. phone interview first. The manager was late and didn't ask me anything, just wanted to set up a face to face with a technical. Went to technical, but the person I thought I was interviewing with wasn't there, so I was interviewed by someone else. They took me to a station and told me to set up. I just did what they requested. Waiting for my model to show, she sat down with me. She was a little more professional, but not warm. Asked me a few questions, but didn’t tell me anything about them. She was wanting to discuss what I could work, more than anything. She didn’t have my application in front of her. I assume they are used to having stylists beg to work there. I started to get the impression that they were not interested in me, more if I will accommodate. I am interviewing them, as much as they are interviewing me. I was not impressed with the getting to know each other process. My model had to cancel on me at the last minute. They offered to reschedule, I am deciding if I want to. Not sure I’m ready to leave my booth for this place. I’ll post again, if I do. Overall, I felt rushed and like a number. Maybe it would be different if the other person had shown up. Good luck to any fellow hairstylist.

Started with a phone interview, then a technical interview. After that, I got to see the club while it was still in the late stages of construction. The owners were very direct but also down-to-earth and easy to talk to. After we talked for a while, they invited my husband to see the club too, so we could discuss it together since I was a bit hesitant about accepting a new position at a brand-new place.
