It was a long process, stretching over a month. The first interview, they confirmed the salary would be in my desired range. But then, after the second interview, the offer came in 20k lower than what we initially discussed. When I brought this up, pointing out it wasn't what we agreed upon, the manager acted condescendingly, making me feel like I was being unreasonable for asking for what seemed like a fair and agreed-upon salary.

I found the job on a job board, and they reached out about a week later. First, there was a phone screening, and then a panel interview. The whole thing took about three weeks. The in-person interview was kind of strange. I got there early, like you're supposed to, and ended up waiting for about 30 minutes before they took me to a conference room. The interviewers kept coming and going, and the questions were all over the place. Some questions got asked more than once because people would leave as soon as someone asked something. It wasn't a great experience, but it wasn't super hard either.

I found this role on Glassdoor and applied. About a month and a half later, a recruiter from GBS Group reached out for an initial phone screen. She then scheduled a phone interview with the COO for three days later, and a call with my potential manager the same afternoon. Six days after speaking with the client over the phone, I had an in-person interview at their site. The hiring team was very welcoming and keen to learn more about me. GBS presented an offer three days later, followed by a revised offer three days after that, which I accepted.

So I had a recruiter call first. Then they set me up for an in-house interview at their NJ office. I chatted with the Senior Project Engineer for like an hour. Afterwards, we talked more over email and phone about the money stuff. Finally, HR from HQ called to confirm everything and sent over an offer packet in the mail. The packet had some helpful orientation info too. Overall, it was a really good experience with the GBS group folks, I'd suggest them to anyone looking.
