Museum Educator
First, I met with HR. Then, I did a science demonstration for the education department. Everyone was bubbly and interactive. They asked about my education and performance experiences and what makes me passionate about science education. They also want people who are bilingual.
- What inspired you to apply for this role?
Director of Education
So I had a total of 7 interviews. It started with a HR phone call, then I spoke with the hiring manager. After that, I had 5 interviews all on Zoom on the same day with other leadership team members. I didn't hear back after the interviews, and even after reaching out a few times, I got no response. I was okay with not getting the job, but after investing so much time, I at least expected a response.
- How would you handle the situation with long-term employees who weren't selected for the position?
Marketing
The process started with a surprise phone call and then an in-person follow-up. I had to wait in the lobby for a really long time, which was kind of awkward since it was my first interview experience there and people kept asking me if I worked there. Everyone was really nice and approachable though, and I heard back in about two weeks, but the whole application thing took a few months.
- What makes you want to work here?
- Tell me about your most recent visit to the company.
Greeter
The interview went well, and I was basically hired on the spot after we talked about my availability, which was most days and about 3 nights, including weekend nights. After talking it over with my fiance, we realized just one of those nights wouldn't work. The manager called the next day, told me when I could start, and I mentioned the one night issue. She said she'd call back. When she did, she said they couldn't hire me because I wasn't flexible enough. I guess they weren't specific about their needs, so I guess I'm not the only one who isn't flexible.
- Have you ever had to deal with an angry customer before?
