After sending in my resume, I got a call the next day asking me to come in for an interview whenever was convenient for me. The next day, I went in for a quick 20-minute chat that included typical interview questions and also some questions about my beer knowledge.

First you meet with a manager to chat about your experience and get the schedule sorted. It's a typical restaurant gig where you'll be serving food and drinks and sharing your beer smarts with customers. The training part lasts about 2-3 weeks, and you gotta nail 7 tests to officially be a beergoddess.

They hire in groups. First, you'll meet with the manager in person for a standard personality evaluation. Then, there's an extensive beer class, which is actually pretty cool since you get to taste beer. They do this because when they open bottles, they can share them among all the new hires and not waste anything. You have to take this seriously though, because beer is the product you're selling. You'll also get to try things off the menu so you know what you're selling. After that, someone from corporate will call you and test you over the phone. Finally, you'll start training on the floor.

It's not a difficult interview. If you have a charming personality and experience, you'll get a lot of points. Be engaging but show you can focus on the task. You need to show you're pleasant to talk to because they're seeing how you'll handle guests, which is super important. Also, be ready to show your intelligence! You'll need it!
