Applied and then got a work sample request. After that, I had a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. They went over the role's scope in more detail. It was a pleasant and easy-going chat, but they didn't ask deep questions about me or my experience. Then they ghosted me. After the initial screening, work samples, and the hiring manager chat, I figured I'd at least get an update on the Museum moving forward with other candidates. Guess that was too much to ask. Sent multiple thank you and follow-up emails, but never heard back. Felt pretty rude.

I had two interviews. The first was with the supervisor for the role, and the second was with two team members. I thought they both went well. I sent thank you notes and follow-up emails, but then I was ghosted. I didn't get any feedback or response, even though I met three people I would have been working with. It felt rude.

It felt like they already had someone in mind, maybe an internal person. The interviewer asked only two very basic questions and then asked if I had any. She didn't dive into my resume or cover letter details. I had to bring up my past projects and team management experience myself. I was surprised because it's a well-known museum and I put a lot of work into my application. Before the interview, there was a writing assignment about DEI importance and its role in my practice. It was a lot of extra work for just a 30-minute chat with no real interest in my qualifications. I'm also hesitant to freely share my thoughts on DEI with a predominantly white institution that has historically impacted AALANA communities. The interviewer didn't follow up via email.
