First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Farmer's Dog.
Marketing Manager
Applied online, and it took about two weeks to get a response. First, I had a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, the recruiter set up meetings with the team. I met with the hiring manager and then a lead from another department, each in a separate meeting. The whole process took around three weeks. Unfortunately, I never heard back from recruiting after that, even though I got positive feedback from the team. My advice for the recruiting team is to be more considerate and provide prompt updates throughout the application process. It truly only takes about 30 seconds to send an email.

Growth Manager
The HR interview was straightforward and pleasant. The hiring manager interview, however, was a very negative experience. The interviewer acted very arrogant and immediately said, “let’s skip the small talk.” They interrupted me several times and it felt like they had already made up their mind about me. I knew I wouldn’t be moving forward in the process, regardless of whether they scheduled another interview, because of the initial impression from the hiring manager.
- Could you describe a growth project you managed from its inception to completion?
Growth Manager
Had a pretty relaxed initial chat with the recruiter, and then moved on to a tougher round with the hiring manager where we really dug into my previous work and examples. Unfortunately, I didn't advance past that point.
- Can you describe a product where you led a growth initiative?
