Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was a bit long in my opinion but overall it was a good experience. They start you off with a video interview where you discuss your background and go over the job description. During this time you will be asked about 5 behavioral based questions so the can gauge if you’re a fit for the position. My advice is to be authentic and be excited to be a part of the team. Next you will interview with one of the leads. First you will tell them about yourself then you will get into a few more behavioral based questions. After this short interview you will have a mock phone call. My advice is to go over the website’s FAQ if you get to this point. After you will get to the cultural interview and this is where you will be asked a few personality questions and you will go over the company culture and any other questions you may have. Always remember to be authentic and show some enthusiasm.

I got through the initial phone call, and spoke to several different employees via Skype. They give you a “test” that consists of some general customer inquiries and ask you to give your response. I felt as though I answered the questions thoroughly, given the limited information provided about company policies. I have a strong background in dog food and felt that the interview went wonderfully. I was honestly shocked and heartbroken when I received the email that they “went with another applicant.” I thanked them for their time and asked if there was anything I could work on while I wait for other opportunities. I never heard back. I tried applying again when I saw a new ad posted, and received the general “Thanks for your interest...but no.” I’m so disappointed, as this couldn’t be a more ideal position for me! Customer service and dogs! The whole experience was weird.

After applying, I heard back in 4 days and got a link to schedule my first interview, which was a phone call. The week before, it got canceled with no explanation. I rescheduled using the same link. The first interview was supposed to be 15 minutes but was actually shorter, about ten. The recruiter was robotic and made it awkward. I thanked her for her time, and she just said 'okay bye' and hung up. The second interview was way better. They emailed asking for my availability, and I got a confirmation the next day. It was an hour, with a half-hour interview with two people. The first part felt like a conversation, and the second part was a mock phone call with questions. The third interview was similar: a culture interview to see if I'd fit. This one felt like chatting with a friend. The interviewers were great, but the recruiter was slow to respond and robotic. Overall, the actual company people made the process amazing.
