Therapist
The interviewer was over 30 mins late and didn't let me know beforehand. The interview process was pretty basic. I knew everything except Traumatic Brain Injuries. They said I'd hear back in a week either way. I followed up twice and never got a response.
- What's your knowledge on domestic violence?
- What do you know about TBIs?
Visitation Exchange and Supervision Monitor
I ALMOST got this job, but had a pretty strange and disappointing experience. I thought the three interview rounds went really well, and honestly, I felt good about all of them. Both HR and the director were responsive and clear about everything. BUT, when I told them both that I absolutely needed time off for my wedding next year, and that date couldn't change, they just stopped responding. I sent in my availability form like they asked and followed up again, but still nothing. Right after that, I got an automated email saying they were moving on to other candidates. It would have been nice to get a simple email explaining if they could or couldn't be flexible for something I told them about a year in advance, especially since it's a major life event. Didn't even get a congratulations. Honestly, it made me feel like it wasn't the kind of agency or company I'd want to work for long-term, even for a PRN role.
- Be ready for many questions about different situations and behaviors. They also asked a lot about domestic violence, parenting, crisis intervention, and similar topics that I'm passionate about and want to learn more about. Plus, general questions about your professional history and aspirations.
HR Resource Executive
The interviewer was okay, but a bit too strict. They asked me about the company's involvement in LGBTQ+ issues to make sure I was aware.
- The interviewer was okay but too strict because they asked me about the company's involvement in LGBTQ+ issues.
Facilitator
It was like a casual conversation with the director that lasted a bit over an hour. He wanted to check if I'd reviewed the curriculum they use, which is the Duluth Model. Also asked me about the kind of group facilitator I am, and if I lean more towards psychoeducational or process-focused approaches.
- What kind of group facilitator are you?
- Are you more inclined towards psychoeducational or process-focused facilitation?
- Did you review the Duluth Model curriculum?
