It was a laid-back chat about what the business needed and what I could offer. The person interviewing me was really experienced and knew their stuff, so we focused on practical things: Can I show up on time? Do I have the right knowledge and experience? How do I perform when things get hectic? They answered all my questions honestly and quickly. When I mentioned my salary expectations, they let me know I was aiming a bit low for them and that it was okay to ask for a bit more.

To apply for this job, you have to go to the restaurant in person. I'd already filled out the application before going, which the manager seemed to appreciate. I got an interview right away. It was going fine until they asked if I could work on Sundays. Since I'm Christian, I said no. The restaurant is open from 7am to 2:30pm, so it wasn't possible for me to work then. The manager told me to let him know when I could move my church stuff around. Working on Sundays is a must, so don't bother applying if you can't do it.

I had two interviews for the Host position, one with the general manager and another with the assistant manager. Normally, there's also an interview with the district manager, but they skipped that one this time because he was really busy. Both interviews were super quick, only about 10-15 minutes each. The restaurant vibe is pretty chill, and the manager is really nice but also gets things done. She's not afraid to jump in and help out anywhere. There are some strict rules in the handbook, but they don't seem to focus on them too much as long as you're friendly, do your job well, and make sure guests are happy.

The interview was pretty simple, mostly basic questions. There was a drug test required by the corporate office which was a bit of a hassle and delayed my start date.
