First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Edgewater Hotel.
Event Bartender
The interview took place in a dining room with the general manager. It was a quick process and I got to ask questions about the job. The pay was great, plus tips.
- Why are you interested in this role with our company?
Receptionist
Had a phone interview with the recruiter and then an in-person interview with the front desk manager. It seemed to go well, the manager even bought me coffee. But then I never heard back from them.
- In what ways do you think you are a good fit for this role?
- Could you tell me about your previous job experiences?
Banquet Server
I had an initial chat with HR where we discussed my overall experience, what I consider my strengths and weaknesses, and I was offered the job right away. It was a quick and professional process. After that, I met with the manager of the department. They dove deeper into my experience with different kinds of events and my knowledge about food and drinks.
- Could you describe your experience with private events?
Chef
Management seemed uncoordinated. Communication between the local team and the national team was poor. The initial interview was brief, mostly discussing the property, and then I was passed on to the National director. Everything felt rushed and last minute, and it didn't feel very serious.
- I was informed there would be limited opportunity for creative menu development.
