First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Dwight School.
Teacher
It was a thorough and quick interview process. It started with a first interview, followed by a demo lesson and then a follow-up interview. The interviewers asked good questions and paid close attention to my responses. They seemed genuinely interested in finding the right fit for the role. My advice to future candidates is to be honest, clearly articulate your teaching philosophy, and know your salary expectations upfront. Negotiate your base pay carefully. If this school is the right environment for you, they will provide IB training, so it's worth applying even if you're not currently an IB teacher. However, it is beneficial to have sufficient knowledge about the IB program to formulate relevant questions.
- How would you differentiate instruction for students at various academic levels within the same classroom?
Communications Manager
I had a couple of interviews for the Communications Manager role. The first one was with my potential supervisor and a teammate. After that, they gave me a written assignment that included a graphics and writing assessment. Then I had a second interview. The people I met were all nice and helpful, and they answered my questions.
- Can you describe your approach to managing your time and handling multiple priorities?
Maintenance Technician
It was a really fast process, and they were very welcoming and answered all my questions. There were two interviews, after which I got to meet the team and some of the staff.
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
Communications Specialist
I spent about an hour on the phone with the hiring manager. Then, they called me at the last minute for a panel interview that seemed a little strange. It seemed to end abruptly for a reason I'll never understand. I still sent thank-you notes, etc. Even after all that, they never bothered to get back to me. I thought that was kind of rude.
- Were you previously involved in media interactions?
