First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Dump.
Sales Manager
I interviewed with The Dump's General Manager for the Sales Manager position. But unexpectedly, I was offered a part-time sales role instead. It felt unprofessional and not what was presented initially.
- Regarding furniture sales, how can you upsell?
Customer Service Coordinator
I got a quick call back. The interview was brief. They walked me through the store and asked about my past jobs and how I handle problems. The interviewer was cool and relaxed. I got the offer two days later.
- Can you share an instance where you had to explain a problem to a customer?
- Tell me about your previous employment.
- How do you approach problem-solving?
IT Contractor
It was pretty quick and easy. They got in touch the same day I sent my CV. Then the hiring manager called me. She asked about my availability and if I could come in for an interview that week. I was free so I went over. The offices were pretty close to where I live.
- Could you tell me about the traits of someone you admire?
- Walk me through your most recent project management experience from beginning to end.
Sales Associate
The Dump is always looking for sales associates. They prefer some furniture experience, but sales experience is more important. I just walked in, filled out an application, and the manager was really interested because it was Christmas time. My tip is to apply when they're busy. I had an interview and got hired. There's not much room for negotiation, and you work their hours: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.
- Do you believe the customer is always right?
