First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Duck Store.
Sales Associate
I interviewed for the Part-Time Sales Associate role at the UO Campus Store on March 15th, 2018. The interview process was really chill and straightforward. The hiring managers created a laid-back interview environment, so you didn't feel too nervous. When you get to the top level of the Duck Store, head to the back where there are glass windows. Inside, the receptionist gives you a pamphlet about the store and a sheet to write down your answers to the interview questions. The whole process lasted about 2 hours. There were 4 of us interviewing, and we started with an icebreaker where we introduced ourselves to each other. Then, the hiring managers used a projector to show the Duck Store website and shared some info about the store and UO. After that, they asked interview questions around the table in a round-robin style, based on what we had written down earlier. The hiring manager offered me the job over the phone the next day, and I accepted.
- What does success mean to you in a job setting?
Sales Associate
It was a group interview, and it was pretty easy. The interviewers tried to make us feel comfortable. They really emphasized a team-oriented atmosphere. It lasted about an hour. Group interviews are good because you get time to think about your questions, but having an audience is a bit strange. I recall there was a partner exercise where they presented a situation and wanted to see how we'd respond. It also seemed like a test of how we worked with others, they were assessing us in several ways!
- Can you share an instance where you collaborated with a team to overcome a challenge?
Sales Associate
I had a casual and easygoing chat with the hiring manager. The questions were a bit challenging but manageable if you're good with customers. It was mostly an online review and a group interview.
- Can you explain the difference between customer service and customer satisfaction?
