First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Dolben Company.
Accounting Manager
The interview process was generally good, but the offer was really weak given the current market. I had a good experience with the HR contact, who was super helpful. The hiring manager was also great. However, upper management was unwilling to negotiate the salary, and the vacation time offered was really low, like what a recent grad would get. They did budge an extra week on the vacation time after I pushed back.
- Are you open to working extra hours when necessary?
IT Manager
I got reached out to by their recruiter after applying online. We had an initial phone screening which went pretty well and she was enthusiastic. She set up an interview with the hiring manager later that week. I felt that interview went well, and we talked about what was next, and a follow-up interview. But then I never heard back after it ended. I followed up twice after they missed the expected update window and was finally told they picked someone else. I asked for feedback but didn't get any. It was strange, the vibe changed suddenly. Later that day, the recruiter posted about the role again, still trying to fill it. The end of this was awkward and communication was poor. It's a bummer because I was really looking forward to it.
- Can you describe your past work experience and how it pertains to this position?
Property Manager
I had 2 interviews, the first one was with the Regional Manager and the second one was with both the RM and the District Manager. The initial contact was by phone and further communication was via email. They were very personable and professional. We made small talk before the interview questions. They answered all my questions at the end without hesitation. It's a very sincere, family oriented company.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a challenging situation and describe how you managed it?
Assistant Property Manager
The interview process was great, very easy to communicate and felt personable. There were 2 virtual interviews. First was a phone call, then a second video interview. It was more of a conversation than a Q&A. I got a response within an hour after the second interview.
- Can you share some of your previous experiences that make you a good fit for this position?
- Would you be open to moving to Boston for this role?
