The interview process for this entry-level role went pretty well overall. There were three interviews total: an initial phone screen, then two in-person group interviews. The first group interview was with three account executives, and the second group interview was with all three founders. I felt like my first two interviews went really well because I clicked with the account executives. The last interview felt a bit strange, though. They had a long list of questions, and I struggled to connect with the interviewers. It also ran over an hour by at least 30 minutes, and they did most of the talking. I got an email about a week later saying I didn't get the job because I wasn't "conversational enough." Honestly, I don't think the interview setup helped with conversation, so it was weird they used that as the reason for rejecting me. It was a bummer since I was really interested in the company and the job.

So I applied online and then the Chief of Staff hit me up to set up a quick phone screen. After that, I went in person to meet with the Chief of Staff and the VP of Accounts. That meeting was pretty short, maybe 25-30 minutes. The Chief of Staff let me know about the decision about a week after.

The interview was very open and relaxed. It felt more like a conversation over coffee than an interview which just goes to show what type of culture has been created. They made the interview fun, too. It was a combination of questions that helped them understand my past and what was important to me, but also fun questions such as what my favorite part of the movie "The Internship" was.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was referred to The Digital Ring by a friend of a friend who worked there at the time. After a brief phone screening, I was invited in to talk to the partners. The interview process was pretty standard -- they asked about my background, my work experience, and why I was interested in The Digital Ring. The interview was also pretty casual and the partners were very friendly. It gave me good insight into what working at The Digital Ring would be like.
