Software Intern
The interview process consisted of three rounds, all non-technical. I met with managers of varying levels. The final round was a panel interview where they asked questions sequentially. The team was friendly, enthusiastic, and professional.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with our company?
Logistics Coordinator
I submitted my application online and then had a phone call with HR. A few days later, they set up an in-person interview. Two people interviewed me. Mostly we talked about the company and the job itself, and didn't really go over my resume or past work. They said they'd let me know about an offer in a few weeks. Three weeks went by, so I emailed for an update. They said they still hadn't decided and would let me know when they did. Almost a year later, I'm still waiting to hear back.
- Can you tell me what you know about the David J. Joseph company?
Finance
I started with a 30-minute recruiter call. Then, I had a 1.5-hour interview with my direct manager, which was pretty relaxed and focused on cultural fit. The next week, I met with the head of HR and another person from the department for a 2-hour interview. The following week, I had a lunch meeting with a Division Head. The week after that, I toured a facility in the morning and then met with the CEO. The final week, I took a battery of tests including personality and Wunderlich assessments. They said I did very well and an offer was coming. But then they told me they had to interview another candidate referred by an affiliate just to cover their bases. They interviewed him once and made him an offer. It was a frustrating process after everything I went through, especially since they hired someone after just one interview with him. They were honest throughout, though. I think they're good people but very slow and meticulous in hiring.
- Tell me about a time your values were tested and what you did.
- Tell me about a time your values were challenged and how you dealt with it.
Brokerage
I initiated contact via email and received a response within a few days, leading to a phone screening. After that, I proposed some dates, and a couple weeks later, I was interviewing in Cincinnati. I met with various members of the sales teams, which gave me a better grasp of the company and its core values. Since this was my first time applying for a big internship, the process made me a bit anxious. However, the HR team was very supportive and encouraging. I got the internship offer shortly after the interview.
- Can you describe a time you had to handle a conflict?
