Sales Manager
The interview process was quite extensive. First, there was a phone interview with a recruiter focusing on my past work history. This was followed by a second phone interview with a recruiter where they conducted a personality assessment. Next, I had an in-person interview with senior management where they asked standard interview questions. After that, I had another in-person interview with a different manager who asked the exact same questions as the previous interviewer. Then, I spent a day in the field at a nearby property, which usually takes a few hours. Finally, they made an offer.
- Can you introduce yourself and walk me through your background?
- What are your key motivators in a role?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Sales Manager
I went through 4 interviews and they all asked me the same questions. I had to do a video chat via Skype or at a nearby property. Then, I was asked to do a 'day in the field.' I drove 1 hour and 15 minutes to this property to see if I'd like the job. The manager there was unprofessional, not sociable, and took smoke breaks every half hour. She asked personal questions like my age instead of talking about the job. The apartments were disgusting, overpriced, and smelled like cats. After 8 hours in the field, the manager said I got the job and they'd offer it, but this day was just to see if I'd like it. The next day, I got an email saying they chose someone else. It felt like a waste of 2 weeks, and the recruiter was very persistent, almost harassing, before not offering me the job.
- What do you do when you're not working?
- What's your five-year outlook?
- What qualities define a good manager?
Sales Manager
I was reached out to by Zach, one of the recruiters via LinkedIn. He was well-informed and had great energy, which was a huge factor in why I decided to move forward with the interview process. I went through a series of interviews with different people from TCG. I had 2 phone interviews and 2 Zoom interviews, and ended up doing A Day in the Field. My interview process lasted a lot longer than usual, but Zach was more than willing to work with my schedule.
- What job would you choose if you could have any in the world?
