Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Connor Group.
Manager
I applied online and then had 5 interviews. First was a phone interview with the recruiter. Then there was a structured interview asking if I'd give up my personal life for my career. After that, I had interviews with three different people - one guy, then a lady, then another guy.
- Are you prepared to dedicate 50-55 hours per week to your job?
- Would you be willing to sacrifice personal time for the sake of your career?
Manager
I went through about 6 interviews for this Manager role. The last interview didn’t seem to go well because shortly after I was rejected via email. Each interview they asked the same questions and started off the same way asking about my personal life and what I do on my time off. The process felt scripted and not genuine, very tedious. Everything was virtual and they mentioned it would be recorded, so it was strange they didn't just share the recording. I would not recommend this process. They also asked in different ways how you handle writing up underperforming employees.
- Tell me about yourself. How do you give difficult feedback and hold teams accountable.
- What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
- Can you describe your process for documenting and addressing underperforming employees?
Manager
The process took about 4-5 weeks because of my work schedule. It included a phone interview with the recruiter, a video call with a partner, an in-person meeting with the COO, and another video interview with the head recruiter. There was also a full day spent in the field from 10 AM to 4 PM. It was intense but I really enjoyed it because it gave me a good understanding of the role.
- Can you share your sales experience?
- How do you handle Profit and Loss Statements, and how would you explain them to a new team member?
