I was interviewed for 9 weeks, with 3 weeks of no communication. I received a generic rejection email at the end. There were 4 interviews with over 8 people, and a writing assignment that took all day. They asked for my start date and references. Climate Reality then ghosted me for weeks. When I asked for an update, they said it would take another week, but it ended up being two. I spent over 30 hours on this interview process. Don't waste your time here, a good employer would respect your time.

I had about one interview each week, and one of them was a writing assignment. I also received the final notice about the job. One of the interviews was a screening. Then, I met with the Director and Senior VP. The third and last interview was a meeting with the whole team. They always got back to me quickly about moving to the next stage, and I felt they were really respectful of my time and effort.

The interview process was really informative, giving me a chance to learn about the organization and them to learn about me. It felt like a mutual selection process, focusing on my career goals and how my background could benefit the company. The first chat with the supervisor was about an hour, and after the initial questions, it became pretty conversational. The HR interview was also insightful, covering company culture, typical HR topics, and the job's requirements. They seem more interested in figuring out what kind of person you'd be to work with, rather than just checking boxes.

This was for the Climate Reality Project Canada. It was a good interview process. They really seemed to want to get to know the people they were working with, and after working with them, I can see why. The Canadian branch in Montreal is fairly small, but with the extensive networks of Climate Reality Leaders, the company is larger than it seems at first glance. They asked me questions about why I was interested in the field and how I got involved. They were very interested in my background as I have lived all over the world, and it makes for interesting conversation. They also asked the usual questions about your strengths and weaknesses and if you work well in a team. The gist that I got from that interview was that they were really interested to know who they were hiring for the next x months, and that I would be a good fit for the company.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • They asked me what my biggest regret in life was.
