First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Clearing.
Consultant
I first talked with two managers together, maybe to see if I'd fit in. Then I had two more interviews with directors. The second interview had harder questions.
- Tell me about a time you faced a difficult situation.
- How would you handle a conflict with a client?
- Describe a project where you had to manage multiple stakeholders.
Analyst
The hiring process was terrible. I had a phone interview, and then two in-person interviews on the same day. The people were nice, and the work seems cool, very 'new business' vibe. Everything went well in the interviews themselves, but the overall hiring process was messed up. Communication was nice but ultimately problematic. I was strung along for almost four months, and every time they said I'd hear back by a certain date, it was a lie. They most recently told me I was a 'finalist' but things were still up in the air. They ignored me when I asked how many other finalists there were. They claim to be open and fair with communication, but their actions show otherwise. It felt like the hiring was outsourced to people who didn't know what they were doing, wasting my time and energy. I still don't know if I'll get an offer, and at this point, I've lost hope and have a bad feeling about the place. I'm not even sure I'd accept if they offered.
- How would you approach migrating a government IT system to the Cloud?
Principal Engineer
I went through phone interviews and then multiple in-person interviews with several people. It took months of interviews, and then they told me they didn't even have an open position. HR was supposed to follow up with emails and calls, but they kept taking weeks longer than they said, even though I kept reaching out to check in.
- How would you approach solving a problem that involves many different stakeholders?
Billing Manager
HR got back to me fast. They were super transparent and helpful. I talked with people at my level, with management, and even with the executives. The team seemed really excited and had a lot of energy.
- Can you share an instance where you implemented a system that was integrated into an existing process?
