& Process

I had two interviews, one with the director and assistant, and then a second one with two coworkers. After that, I underwent a background check and was hired within a week. I started working the first week with training and a walkthrough, and the second week was classroom time.

The hiring process was straightforward and convenient. The interview location was pleasant, and the interviewer conducted herself professionally. She asked numerous questions pertinent to the role, demonstrating active listening and creating a comfortable atmosphere for candidates. All aspects, including the offer details and expectations, were clearly communicated.

Applied online and was called in for an interview about four days later. I completed an assessment and gave consent for a background check. I was told to wear slacks and a nice shirt. I brought a resume and references in a presentation folder, expecting typical interview questions after researching the company. Surprisingly, the manager asked me to talk about myself outside of work, which was unexpected as I had prepared a professional statement about my job experience. I included a brief history of where I grew up, my hobbies, and my family, focusing on childcare and responsibility. We discussed salary expectations, and I initially mentioned $12/hour to offset childcare costs, but with a 45% daycare discount, $10/hour seemed more appealing. After this, I took a tour of the school and met the staff. They mentioned needing to wait for the director to submit my paperwork to the system for approval. I was scheduled for a trial hour the following Monday, where I interacted with two different classes. I was instructed to wear comfortable black pants and a solid shirt, so I wore a polo and slacks. It was a great experience, though I never received a formal job offer. When I inquired about the position, they confirmed I got the job. The location was specifically seeking a full-time candidate, and I believe I fit the role well, making the process quite quick. The interview was pretty relaxing.

It was a really nice experience. I felt super comfortable and not intimidated at all. The interview was informative, and I learned a lot about what Childten's Courtyard has to offer. They were clear about what they expect from someone in this position. I even had a presentation component.
