Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Center for Reproductive Rights.
Paralegal
I applied online in May 2023. The whole process took three weeks. It was one of the most unprofessional and rude interview experiences I've ever had. They called me days before the interview to confirm everything, including my start date, but then hours before the interview, they called to say the position was filled and they weren't considering me anymore. They didn't explain why they continued the interview process when they had already hired someone. It's clear their HR is disorganized and inconsiderate, which is disappointing given the Center's mission. I wouldn't recommend applying here because they don't respect candidates' time or dignity.
- When could you start working?
Corporate Paralegal
First, I had an interview with HR, which was pretty straightforward. Then, there was a panel interview where they asked typical questions. They really dug deeper into my motivations and asked follow-up questions about why I was interested. I had plenty of time to ask my own questions.
- Could you share your interest in the Center?
Legal Assistant
After applying online, I got a call within a week for an interview. It was a phone interview with two ladies from the office. They were really nice and chill during the interview. They asked me about how I heard about the center and why I wanted to work there, then about my strengths and weaknesses. They also asked how I would manage having to balance a lot of different assignments from different attorneys all at once in this job. They mentioned they'd let me know if I moved on to the next stage, but I never heard back.
- How would you manage when you have multiple attorneys giving you assignments that all need to be done and have deadlines?
