Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Center for Reproductive Rights.
Summer Associate
I went through two rounds of interviews. The first was a basic chat with HR, and the second was with my potential supervisors where they asked about program projects and personal stuff. I got the offer about two months after applying.
- What international law instruments have you worked with?
Program Associate
The interview itself went well. Everyone was kind, smart and engaged. Clearly they do great work. The process wasn't so great though. I was told after an in-person interview that I would hear back the next day. This seemed soon to me, but whatever. I never heard back from them at all, and my follow-up e-mails were ignored. A month later I get an automated message from their HR system saying I didn't get the job. (Yeah, no duh.) It's a junior level role so I realize they don't put much effort into communicating with unsuccessful candidates, but I didn't appreciate being given a clear timeline then ignored. If you meet someone in person, you should have the courtesy to take 5 minutes and send a personal e-mail.
- Questions were standard and fair
Associate
It's a 4 stage process. You'll talk to HR, then a panel, then the hiring manager, and finally there's a background check. The process is pretty transparent and they're friendly and listen to your questions. The interview vibe is calm and the questions are fair. They really lay out the process during the first interview. It's well-coordinated.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your interest in this position?
