I had an in person interview. The questions were pretty easy and the project managers were a bit eccentric. Overall, it was a positive experience. You can pass as long as you know college-level material. They asked about javascript, c#, and general programming concepts.

The company I was working for lost their contract on a Friday, and Centech decided to interview us all that Saturday evening. The CEO conducted the interview and kept saying, "I'm blind so I have no idea if you are black, white, hispanic, or Asian." At first, I thought he was joking, but he repeated it so many times that I started to wonder why it was so important to him. During the interview, I was asked what I liked about my job, and I replied that I enjoy helping customers in person. Then he asked me if I had ever thought about becoming a pastor. While I wasn't offended by that specific question, it was one of many things that made the interview really uncomfortable. Just a heads-up, they tend to cut your pay by 30% without any notice.

I got an email about a PM job at an Army base. I had a good, long phone screen with HR. Then, a senior manager wanted to talk, but could only do Sunday afternoon. I told them I had family plans, so HR rescheduled for Monday morning. The Monday call was 15 mins late, and it was HR again telling me they'd offered the job to someone else. The senior manager emailed a week later to talk, I replied, and heard nothing. I reached out to HR again, and they seemed annoyed I was trying to reconnect. The Sunday interview request was a red flag about disorganization. The salary was also surprisingly low at $85K, especially for someone with my IT background (retired Army Signal Field Grade); even new cyber defenders make more. The HR person seems to be covering for a disorganized or new senior manager. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here due to low pay, poor work-life balance focus, and disorganized HQ staff.

The recruiter set up screening calls really quickly. I called in, then had to wait on hold for twenty minutes before hanging up. The next interviews were scheduled without telling the interviewer what job I was interviewing for. Then the CEO sent a bunch of emails with questions about my skills and expertise that were impossible to answer. My answers just led to more emails and more questions. It was unprofessional overall. I got other offers and chose a different company.
