the interview process was 3 parts. The first phone call was a screening process with an HR who didn't seem to have much experience in qualifying candidates. The call was over Zoom and the interviewer didn't show up on time.

The interview process felt a bit dated, like it was from ten years ago. I was brought in for an interview right away, skipping an advanced phone screen. A lot of the questions they asked were 'gotcha' type questions that most companies don't use anymore. The interviewer was also really confrontational, almost hostile. They seemed to take my responses in the worst possible light and then challenged me to defend them.

I interviewed with 4 different people. The company culture seemed really positive and they seemed to value employee input. The first 3 people I met with, I really enjoyed and felt a good connection with. They were focused on whether I'd be a good cultural fit and blend well with the team. The last interview was completely different. The interviewer was negative and spoke poorly of previous employees in the role and others at the company. He made several disrespectful comments, prefacing one by saying he wasn't supposed to say it but HR wouldn't want him to. It was a total 180 from the others, and honestly, his behavior lost them a strong candidate. It's surprising he's been there so long given how great everyone else was and how out of sync he seemed. I withdrew my application the next morning because I knew I wouldn't accept an offer at that point and didn't want to prevent another interested candidate from getting a chance. This company seemed like it could have been a great place to work, and if this role didn't involve working directly with the 4th interviewer, I would have been excited about the opportunity.

Good communication and thoughtful questions throughout. Liked that they used email, avoiding the usual phone tag. The people were genuinely friendly, which was a nice surprise. My main worry was that many Indeed reviews seemed fake, which wasn't a great sign.
