Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Bradley Center.
Child Development Specialist
The interviewer had questions on a paper, which were pretty straightforward and easy. The whole thing lasted about 45 minutes. They were really nice and dressed casually. After the interview, they showed me around the whole building.
- What makes you want to work with children?
Child Development Specialist
It was a really friendly and welcoming conversation. We discussed the mental health field broadly, and I learned a lot about the specific role. The interviewer explained the 'sanctuary' model used by TBC, which involves concepts like social responsibility, shared governance, and emotional intelligence. I was asked for my interpretation of these values. The atmosphere felt more like a casual academic chat than a formal interview.
- What's your motivation for seeking employment with this organization?
Child Development Specialist
I got an email from HR, and then they called me the next day. They did a quick phone chat to see what I knew about their place and why I wanted to work there. Then I went in at 10 PM for an interview. The person interviewing me seemed tired, but they paid attention and had some really good ideas that I still think about.
- What is your five-year plan?
- What do you know about our facility?
- Why are you interested in this role?
Child Development Specialist
Started with an HR screening, and then had an in-person meeting with a supervisor. HR asked a few basic questions. Then, with the supervisor, I had to answer a lot of scenario-based questions, including about boundaries and crisis management.
- What is your approach to managing a child who is escalated?
