First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Bouqs Company.
Director
It took a few weeks to get the initial phone interview scheduled. First, there was a recruiter screener call. Then, a phone interview with a more senior person at the company. Finally, I had an in-person interview with a group of their managers. Overall, the people I met seemed decent. Some were really knowledgeable and seemed like great colleagues. However, a few spent more time complaining about problems than discussing solutions. One person even spent most of the time bragging about their past startup experiences and accomplishments, making me feel like they saw me as competition due to my experience level and similar role. I got a comment from someone saying they thought we'd talk again, so I was surprised not to get an offer. The company seems good, but they could improve their HR interview process.

Product Manager
I was first reached out to by a recruiter. Then I had a phone screen. After that, I was invited for an in-person group interview. When I got there, the group hadn't confirmed the meeting, so only one person showed up out of the three scheduled. I followed up the next day, but got a generic email a few days later saying I wasn't selected. I was a bit bummed about the form letter response instead of a personal email, and I wondered if things would have turned out differently if the interview had gone as planned or if the hiring manager had been there. The people and the place were nice otherwise.
- Can you tell me how you handle managing priorities?
- What's an app you really like?
Project Manager
The interviews were more like casual chats than a set of strict questions. It felt pretty relaxed, and there weren't any tricky "gotcha" or case study type questions. What was a bit odd was that it seemed like the different teams didn't really talk to each other, so I got asked the same stuff a few times. The main red flag, though, was seeing some friction between the two cross-functional teams this role would work with. Even though I didn't get an offer, that would've been a big factor in my decision.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join The Bouqs?
Retention Marketing Manager
Recruiter reached out and set up a phone interview. After a few weeks, they got back in touch to set up an in-person interview. I was informed that the role had shifted a bit and was now a higher-level position, requiring more experience. I tried my best, but it was pretty awkward when the first interviewer left the door open while discussing me within earshot before the second interviewer arrived.
- What's your reason for wanting to leave your current employment?
