First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at The Berman Group.
Designer
I applied online and had a phone interview with the hiring manager. Then I had to submit extra sample work. After that, I had a second phone interview where we discussed a paid trial work period to see how I'd do and if I'd fit in, with a potential full-time contract offer at the end.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Front End Web Developer
It was a pretty professional experience overall. I had a 20-30 minute interview in a conference room with two people. They asked me about front end development and gave me a coding problem to solve on paper. After that, they let me ask them any questions I had. I was a bit worried about the company because of the bad reviews I saw on this site, but they said their department is separate and the reviews don't apply to them, so it sounds like they don't get the same treatment from their boss as the account managers. They seemed like nice guys.
- Questions about front end development.
Marketing Associate
I applied for a Junior Marketing Associate - Fall Internship on WayUp. First, I talked about where I wanted to get experience and my previous work. The interviewer told me about the company and departments, and I said which ones interested me. Then, I met with people in those departments to learn more about the responsibilities. Everyone was really nice and said they have a close team that works hard but supports each other. They said I'd hear from them soon.
- What kind of experience are you hoping to get from this internship?
Account Executive
First, you'll meet with the office manager, who's really the main decision-maker. After that, there's a meeting with the CEO for final approval. They'll ask typical behavioral questions, and you'll need to discuss your past experience and background. A big part of the interview focuses on your creative experience, and they might ask for work samples.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
