It was a pretty simple process. After submitting an online application, I scheduled an interview which was moderate and lasted around 20 - 25 minutes. Then there was a follow up on the application process and onboarding to the office location.

The interview process was conducted virtually and included a Design and PM lead. I was asked general questions about my interests and how they align with the firm, and I also presented a few projects from my portfolio. The interviewers were very responsive and transparent when I asked them my own questions.

The company set aside a full day for interviewing lots of candidates via video. Every candidate got just a 20-minute slot. It was really hard to fit in talking about myself, my work, my portfolio, and getting to know the interviewers in such a short time. It was pretty obvious the interviewers were tired and didn't really want to be there. Their lack of interest in the interview and me as a candidate was really discouraging.

They asked me about my past experience in construction and why I'm a good fit for Beck. They also really focused on my work ethic. A key point was understanding my commitment to construction, since my degree opens doors to design or manufacturing. They wanted to know about my choices and what really draws me to construction.
