it was easy questions about my previous experience, then a 2nd interview where we walked around and i answered questions about form or exercises and equipment, just to see if i knew how to use it and how i would correct someone’s form

First, I had to submit a video. Then, there was an interview later on. In the interview, they asked me to quickly talk about my video. After that, there weren't many questions, so I mostly asked my own questions to keep the chat going for the 30 minutes.

It was pretty easy and straightforward. They asked about my past experience in the fitness industry. Also asked about my salary expectations, my weekly availability, if my schedule is flexible, and if I can work early mornings.

I applied for a role at a place 7 minutes from my house. The two people who interviewed me were very nice, but the role was for a location much farther away. They said they'd email me about next steps in a day or two. Several days went by, so I reached out. We confirmed it was for the farther location, not the one I applied to. I had to ask about the location, so it felt like they tried to switch it on me. The closer role was open but filled internally. After some back and forth, we scheduled a second interview. I met with someone new and one person from the first interview. It went really well, and they spent a lot of time selling me on the role. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week. A week later, I asked for an update, and they said early the next week. I finally got an answer 2.5 weeks after they said the end of the week. They emailed me on a Saturday at 9PM to say it went to an internal candidate. It's great they promote from within, but they had two roles and both went to internal candidates. I feel like they wasted my time. The three people I met were very nice, but the location switch, the delay, the buried rejection email, and ultimately hiring internally for both roles soured my opinion of The Bay Club.
