The recruiter gave me a call and asked me about my resume and experience with children. The recruiter also asked about my salary requirements. I told them it was negotiable and asked about the starting salary. The recruiter would not tell me the salary until I made an offer. After I said a number larger than 35k-38k, she quickly ended the interview. I never heard from the hiring manager. Pro-tip: Be prepared to say you will take 35k!

I sent in my application online, and within a day, the recruiter reached out to schedule an interview. It was a virtual meeting where we talked about my experience, I answered some situational questions, and I also did an assessment. After that, I had a second interview in person with the director. This time, they asked more situational questions and also inquired about what I could bring to the team. About two weeks later, I was told I didn't get the job. Apparently, the director was supposed to be out, but they came back briefly that morning to give the offer to someone with foster care experience. That's how it goes.
