I got the job invite a week after applying. It took them two weeks to get back to me and invite me to do a language assessment. I felt like I nailed it. Then, silence. I get that not all jobs get back to applicants, but it's not cool after you've done interviews/assessments. I followed up a few times over the next month, but they didn't even bother to reply that they were moving on with someone else.
- If you were an investor or company in this country, what three geostrategic or geopolitical trends would you recommend monitoring to mitigate risk?
Analyst
We started with a phone interview with two associates, and if the role needed a foreign language, there was a translation test. Then came two partner interviews, which could be in person or over the phone. After that, it was a 360 interview with associates. The questions were pretty general and knowledge-based. The final interview is in person (or by phone if you're not in town), and it's mainly for associates to see if you'd fit in with the team. Honestly, if you make it to the final interview, you're probably already in because the associates are usually too swamped to interview everyone.
- What are your thoughts on current political, economic, and social trends in your region or country of expertise?
- How do you handle working in a fast-paced business setting?
- In what ways would your previous experiences bring value to this role?
Analyst
There were 5 interviews total, with various questions to gauge my knowledge across different regions and industries in Asia. The questions were hard to predict, even with preparation based on hints about the next steps. The last interview was with the entire team, basically a vibe check to see if I'd fit in.
- Can you discuss the current political climate in a Southeast Asian nation outside your area of expertise, and its impact on X industry?
