The Art Institutes Interview Questions
& Process

It was a smooth and pretty easy process. I talked with several people and had to answer pretty much the same questions for everyone. I also had to do a teaching demo. Overall, no complaints from me. It didn't take too long.

Applied for the role on Monday when it was posted on a third-party site and got a call back on Thursday. Had a phone interview the following Monday which went well. The interviewer mentioned he would be flying in and wanted to meet on Wednesday. I attended the interview, which lasted about 30-40 minutes, with him and a colleague. They said they needed to fill the position quickly and would let me know by Friday. When I didn't hear back by Monday, I called the interviewer. He remembered me and asked to call back, which I agreed to. I never heard back from him, likely because they chose someone else and forgot to inform me. This was a bit insulting given the effort he made to fly in, suggesting a small applicant pool. After an hour without a callback, I assumed I'd get a rejection email, but he probably thought I'd get the message after waiting longer.

I applied on their website and had a phone interview the next day. Then I had an in-person interview two days after that. I met with the Director of Admissions for what felt like normal interview questions. Right after that, about 30 minutes later, I was called in for a third and final interview three days later. I met with the President of the department who really went into detail about the position and what they'd be looking for. After that, I spoke with HR for about 15 minutes about the company culture. Everyone I met was professional and communicated well about my application status. The day after my third interview, the person who did my phone interview emailed me to ask how it went, which was a nice touch. I was told I'd hear back within a week either way. It's only been two days, so I'm hoping for an offer because I'd love to work with everyone I've spoken to.

First, I completed a personality test. If successful, I was invited for an interview. The first interview was about an hour long with two managers. A couple of days later, I was contacted for an interview with the President. This meeting went very well, and she was approachable and friendly. I was told they'd be in touch within a week, but it's been over two weeks now, so I assume I didn't get the job. Everyone I interacted with was kind, professional, and easy to talk to. I admire the programs they offer and what they've achieved. I would have enjoyed working with the president, given our similar backgrounds and the learning opportunities.
